How to Combat Boredom at Work.

Some people are not satisfied with their work, while others are bored. If you’re one of the latter, here are some ways to combat boredom at work:

Have a To-do List

Writing down tasks and prioritizing them can help lead to staying engaged throughout the day. Staying active at work also helps to lead to engagement with your workload. This kind of engagement leads to you feeling more accomplished, which in turn helps keep boredom away.

Take a Break

Another way that you can combat boredom is by making sure that you are taking breaks often. In order to reduce boredom, you should include a ten-minute break for every hour that you work. This will help prevent burnout and let you be more engaged in your work when you are at it. You can also try setting a timer in order to remind yourself when it is time to take a break.

You should always be mindful of the tasks you are completing and how much time you have to complete them. If you find that you are becoming bored, try to take short breaks every hour. Use this time to organize your desk or clean out your inbox.

Enjoy what You Do

Another way to keep yourself engaged is by doing work that you find enjoyable. The more that the work interests you, the more likely you are to be engaged in it. Although not all work can be interesting, finding ways to make it more enjoyable can help.

Don’t Stay Idle

Do a crossword puzzle or Sudoku when waiting for something to happen.

Be Adventurous

Look for new opportunities within the company by networking with coworkers and superiors.
